The event to celebrate achievements of foster carers, social workers, children and young people was held at the HQ of the British Medical Association in London on 17th November.
The Duchess joined a tea party for award winners and, as well as meeting those directly involved she met employers who have set up foster friendly employment terms to support foster carers in their work. Foster carers are urgently needed for children with disabilities, sibling groups and teenagers.
Jim Bond, who is President of The Fostering Network said “It is wonderful that HRH The Duchess of Cambridge was able to join with us to celebrate the outstanding work of all involved in supporting some of our most damaged and needy young people to go on to achieve more, to feel safe and above all enjoy their childhood!”
